Mary Rainwater

Mary Rainwater is an independent consultant with over 30 years of experience in direct service, executive management and philanthropy in the fields of health and mental health. Mary works with a team of consultants, which includes medical and behavioral health leaders, with deep expertise at all levels from within the healthcare systems, working together to catalyze change, focused on transforming systems, both in-person and through use of technology, to always put people first.

Previously, Mary served as a program officer for The California Endowment where she designed and launched the Integrated Behavioral Health Project, the first statewide foundation initiative designed to identify and replicate best practices for integrating physical and behavioral health in federally qualified health centers throughout California.  She served for 11 years as the executive director of a Los Angeles based federally qualified health center, The Saban Community Clinic, and has worked as a licensed clinical social worker providing direct service to homeless mentally ill on Skid Row, transitioning to program leadership positions for the Los Angeles County, Department of Mental Health.  Mary received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University and her master’s degree in Social Welfare from UCLA.  She resides in New York City.
