Bradley REACH Interview: Elisabeth Frazier, PhD – Team Lead

Featuring Elisabeth Frazier, PhD – Team Lead

Q: What do you love most about Bradley REACH?

It's such a pleasure to work with the teams of Bradley REACH, because they are filled with people who truly care about others, including the teens and families we work with as well as each other as coworkers. We are all constantly learning from each other, and it is an absolute honor to get to know our patients and help them reach their goals.

Q: What’s the best thing about virtual care?

All people should have access to the support they need to achieve mental wellness. While virtual care cannot address all barriers to equal access to mental healthcare, it does address some of the common barriers of travel, busy schedules, and program/provider availability. Virtual care has resulted in many people getting the care they need who otherwise would have continued suffering without support.

Q: What can we all do to improve teenagers’ mental health?

This is a question with many answers, but for a start, teens want the same things that all of us do related to feeling loved, respected, valued, and understood. Focusing on listening with the intent to understand rather than to respond and validating teens' experiences, even when they are different from your own, can go a long way.
